templates of scripts

Formats for pre production process- templates for scripts

A screenplay is the blueprint of a film the written out version.
3 main components are slugline, action and dialog.
A slug line is a heading with a blank line above and below it. It means if the scene takes place inside or outside, what location it takes place in and when normally day or night.

The screenwriter can't write the feeling of characters yet has too right action to reflect.

The screenplay is normally a minute a page, although sometimes it varies due to whether it’s action or dialog.

The weighting of action and dialog affects the length of the screen play because if there is too much dialog the production will feel too much and too much like they’ve tried to pack too much into one film, however if there’s not enough dialog and too much action they audience is going to feel like the story doesn’t make sense as the words make up for the parts that aren’t really able to act out.
