Who are the key personnel involved in health & safety and what are their roles and responsibilities?
- The Producer to the Production Manager and 1st Assistant Director to then all crew members have a duty of care which is recognised by the law.
- The Location Manager is in charge of the reece so that they can make sure the location and safe to work in.
- The First Assistant Director is in charge of always making sure that production is running safely.
- The Production Coordinator is in charge of updating and giving out the risk assessments.
What is the key function of risk assessment within health & safety?
A risk assessment makes sure that everyone working is safe and there is no risk of anyone getting hurt. It looks at each set up and location individually and it ensures that the area is completely safe to work in without any complications.
Why are health & safety considerations and risk assessments so important?
They ensure that all deadlines are met and that everyone is safe and if deadlines cannot be met it makes sure that the person carrying out the risk assessments can give an accurate timing of when it will be safe or things they can put in place to carry on with the day.
What are the consequences of not considering health & safety and risk assessments?
The consequences of not taking out a risk assessment is that you could end up putting people in danger. You could also end up wasting time that doesn't need to be wasted, for example it could cause everyone to come in for a full day of shooting for everyone to get there and find out it's too dangerous for people to be on site.
